[..] Steve Rasmussen is a grand
balladeer armed with a great vocal style, beautiful songs and a
passion for every word he sings." (from North Columbia Monthly)
Steve is a singer/songwriter and piano player who has been compared
to Billy Joel. His outstanding songwriting combined with his top
notch piano playing abilities and smooth vocals are something to
be heard. If you like simple beautiful melodies with a heartfelt
voice than you have come to the right place. If you would like to

(..) I have been playing music
for many years and I started out playing guitar in rock bands in
the early eighties. I later worked as a technician on the road for
major bands like Poison, Whitesnake and Metallica, etc. This was
a great oppurtunity to learn more about the music business. After
quitting the touring I began to play music again since I didn't
get a lot of chance to play while working for other bands. My interests
began to lean more towards piano and less towards guitar. I bought
a baby grand piano and have since began writing and recording songs.
My basic setup is a pentium III 550 , 128 ram, gadgetlabs 424, roland
m-160 line mixer, Rode NT1 microphone, AKG CS100s microphone and
of course my piano and n-track. I tried other multitrack software
but n-track was the only one I was able to just sit down and start
using immediately. It is so much more intuitive than the other software
out there which I think is so important because it allows you to
spend more time creating and less time learning.

I think one of the
most important lessons I have learned about recording is that
just because you have a pile of plugins doesn't mean you have
to use them. No plugin is going to replace a good clean well
recorded track. I am learning through trial and error that less
is more when it comes to effects. I have just completed my CD
with 7 songs and I couldn't have done it without n-track. |
